Western Corridor Migration Safari, 5 days

Length: 5 daysGroup: Private, tailor-madeDifficulty: EasyBest months: May–Jul
Overview

The Great Migration from the less-travelled western side of the Serengeti.

This five-day private safari is designed for travellers who want to experience the Great Migration from a less-travelled side of the Serengeti. The journey begins in Arusha before heading to Tarangire National Park for an introduction to Tanzania's wildlife. From there, you travel into the Serengeti, spending the heart of the safari in the Central and Western Corridor, following the general route of the migrating herds towards the Grumeti River. Unlike a rushed safari that tries to cover several parks in a few days, this itinerary gives the Serengeti the attention it deserves. The focus is on large migrating herds, the Grumeti ecosystem, resident predators and the dramatic landscapes of western Serengeti. The Western Corridor is particularly interesting from May to July, when the migration normally passes through the region.
